Comparison

A Comparison of Neosho and Chanuka

Neosho and Chanuka are enemies according to their tribe, but are friends at heart. Both boys are from two well known Indian tribes. Neosho is from the Dakota tribe and Chanuka is from the Ojibway. The friendship between these two boys is very strange. They have never spoken to each other. On the other hand, Neosho tried to communicate with Chanuka, but Chanuka didn't offer any attention to Neosho. A symbolism of the boys' friendship are the moccasins, however the moccasins are different. Neosho's moccasins are puckered, while Chanuka's are beaded.
Because Neosho and Chanuka are from two different Indian tribes, both the tribes and the two boys do not have the same character traits. The Dakota and the Ojibway have different characteristics. While the Dakota live on the prairies, the Ojibway dwell in the forests. Both tribes hunt for their food, however the Dakota hunt for buffalo while the Ojibway get their meat from either a moose or deer. Both of the boys love to go on adventures, yet Neosho knew so little to stand up against a great big moose that he got severely injured. Chanuka had never gotten injured by a moose because his people, the Ojibway, hunt moose and they understand their habits.
So as you can see, both Neosho and Chanuka, and the Dakota and Ojibway tribes, are similar in many ways, but are different in many another.
